T'ai Chi Introduction workshop with Julie Jones
T’ai Chi involves slow meditative movements, which still the mind and increase the awareness of self. Deep breathing exercises, timed to the moves, reduce stress and tension. These ancient exercises co-ordinate mind, body and breath. Performed with softness and grace, they give us a sense of peace and tranquility. The precision of the moves increase muscle strength, balance and self confidence.
After a demonstration of the Lee Style Short Form of T’ai Chi, the workshop will start with standing meditation, relaxing the whole body, from the crown of the head down to the toes. Deep breathing is explained to help clear the mind. Julie will tell you some of the history of T’ai Chi, and then guide you through the exercises, explaining everything you need to know to enjoy the benefits of this ancient martial art. You will leave the workshop feeling both relaxed and energised.
