Meet Ebru Evrim
Ebru is the founder of Ebru Evrim studio, from Turkey, now living in the UK., opened the Harrogate studio after the pandemic and has since transformed the space into a successful studio, proudly the largest in North Yorkshire.
She is a yoga and Pilates teacher and trainee. She has been specialising in teaching Yoga and Pilates for decades. Her passion stems from an old injury and has since delved into the study of the balance between the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of the human body as it relates to everyday modern lives.

Meet Ebru Evrim our studio owner. Ebru is the founder of Ebru Evrim studio, from Turkey, now living in the UK., opened the Harrogate studio after the pandemic and has since transformed the space into a successful studio, proudly the largest in North Yorkshire. She is a yoga and Pilates teacher and trainee. She has been specialising in teaching Yoga and Pilates for decades. Her passion stems from an old injury and has since delved into the study of the balance between the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects of the human body as it relates to everyday modern lives.

Meet Karen Mercer, our General Manager. Karen joins us with a strong background in management and a genuine passion for exceptional customer service. Known for her friendly, approachable nature and willingness to go the extra mile, she truly thrives on putting people first. Whether she’s solving a problem or simply brightening someone’s day, Karen believes a smile and a good conversation can make all the difference. Her positive energy and commitment to connection make her a wonderful addition to our team, and we’re so excited to have her on board!

Kate Taylor has been teaching movement for almost six years, beginning her journey with yoga teacher training in before qualifying in both Reformer in and Mat Pilates. She brings a passion for helping people feel stronger, more mobile, and more at ease in their bodies. Her Reformer Pilates classes focus on strong, controlled movement, building strength, improving posture, and enhancing stability through mindful precision. Her Stretch classes offer a slower, more restorative approach, designed to release tension, increase flexibility, and encourage a deeper connection between movement and breath. Kate’s teaching style is supportive and motivating, helping clients move with confidence and leave each session feeling balanced, energised, and grounded.

Meet Jamie Blowers, our Reformer Pilates Instructor! With over 17 years of experience in movement education, Jamie is dedicated to helping clients enhance their strength and flexibility through Reformer Pilates. He brings a wealth of knowledge in body mechanics and movement principles to every class. Armed with a MA in Choreography and training from esteemed dance schools, Jamie creates inclusive and engaging sessions that cater to all abilities. His focus on building confidence and supporting diverse learning aptitudes ensures that every client feels empowered to achieve their goals. In his spare time, you can find Jamie researching for his future PhD plans and teaching anatomy to movement teachers across the UK or leading Reformer and Yoga Teacher Trainings. Join him for a transformative Reformer Pilates experience that inspires growth and confidence!

Julie Sullivan relocated from London 15 years ago and decided on a new challenge after a decade as an accountant. Enough sitting behind a desk! So Julie trained as a pilates mat work teacher 12 years ago and loved the combination of work and health. Reformer teaching followed 2 years ago, and the grounding of many years of mat work practice has helped in teaching both disciplines at Ebru Evrim. ‘Pilates with props’ is her favourite theme.

Meet Katie Galantino! She’s the friendly face on reception who somehow knows 90% of our clients’ names. Always ready to help with memberships or answer your studio questions, Katie keeps everything running smoothly. When she’s not at busy at the desk, she’s planning her next holiday, sipping coffee, or enjoying a good chat (sometimes all three at once!).

Lucy Edlin qualified as a 200hr Vinyasa Flow teacher in Bali in 2012. Soon, thereafter, she began teaching in Dubai. Over the next few years, Lucy took her Pilates Mat – level 1 & 2 training with Laura Western, Balanced body teacher trainer in Dubai. Since Lucy’s return to Ilkley in 2014, she opened The Yoga Barre which she co-owned for 7.5yrs with her twin sister, Nancy. Lucy has studied Yin Yoga with Sarah Lo. Trained with Sarah & Ty Powers on a 100hr residential in Wales – Yin Yoga & Mindfulness Meditation. Took a private course in Vedic Meditation with The Soft Road and in late 2018 took part in the seven-day residential course – The Hoffman Process in West Sussex, as part of the Insight Yoga Institute training program. More Recently Lucy has Rekindled her love of Reiki and all things healing. Lucys Yin classes are calming balancing, restoring and will guid you on your journey back home.

Ashleigh Cunningham discovered yoga and pilates 6 years ago to manage pain from scoliosis, her life completely transformed. Afer becoming stronger, more confident, with minimal pain, she decided to teach movement to help people build strength and confidence in their bodies. Ashleigh's primary aim is for you to leave class feeling better than when you arrived: stronger, capable and more connected to your body.

Emily Diamond is a certified Mat & Reformer Pilates teacher, Ashtanga Yoga Teacher, Personal Trainer and runs her own online female coaching company. As a teenager she moved to Thailand where she fell in love with yoga, and them from Yoga she found pilates. “ Its given me a better understanding of my body, and demonstrated why we need to work the deepest layers of the muscle, how the smallest of movements can completely alter your body shape. “ Em has been within the fitness industry from a very young age. She started working at gyms at the age of 17 and hasn’t looked back. Her mum being the biggest influence on her fitness journey who carried Emily round gyms as a child training for body building competitions and was Scorpio in the hit 90s Tv show The Gladiators . If you’re wanting to take your strength to a whole new level now’s your chance.

Meet Claire McKenzie. Claire practiced yoga for 10 years before turning her passion into her career. She started teaching yoga in January 2025, and hasn’t looked back since. Her Vinyasa classes bring both strength and mindfulness. You can expect strong flows with the opportunity to really feel into the asanas and moving with the breath is an integral part of her classes. Claire offers plenty of options and variations throughout her classes making them accessible for all. Claire aims to have you feeling better in both your mind and body than when you arrived. In July 2025 Claire added reformer classes to her offering, after finding that reformer was a great addition to her yoga practice, it increased her core and arm strength exactly as she needed it. She likes her classes to be strong, controlled, and done with purpose, she uses her yoga sequencing experience to create reformer classes that flow from one series to the next. Expect strong dynamic flows, which nearly always including a good glutes series, with a lighthearted but encouraging energy. Outside of teaching, you will find Claire either in the kitchen trying out a new recipe or in the countryside with her dog.

Mandy Tennent is teaches yoga and reformer here in the studio. Prior to that she has taught dance, drama and singing. Mandy loves to motivate and uplift her clients so they feel better than when they came into class. She enjoys theatre ,cinema and spending time with her family and friends chatting over a drink.

Meet Sarah Taylor

Meet Jane Crotty, Jane brings dynamic energy and motivational coaching to every barre class. Combining the precision of Pilates with the power of dance-inspired movement, her sessions are designed to strengthen, tone, and energise both body and mind. Expect uplifting playlists, powerful sequences, and a supportive atmosphere that leaves you feeling confident and strong.

Meet Sarah Avery

Meet Chloè Wilkinson. Chloè has spent over a decade in senior retail management, but her true passion has always been in Pilates. This past year, she decided to turn that passion into purpose - earning her qualifications in Mat and reformer with Ebru. Chloè brings warmth, focus, and a supportive challenge to every class. With her strong people skills and genuine care for others, her aim is to help every client leave feeling better than when they walked in and to support them in achieving their personal goals. When she isn’t teaching or working, Chloè loves spending time with her beautiful daughter and husband.

Meet Sarah Hannett, a Performance & Behavioural Neuroscientist, Qualified Nutritionist, and certified Meditation & Sound Therapy Practitioner. With a Postgrad in Neuroscience (Distinction) and ongoing MSc studies in Psychology & Neuroscience of Mental Health at King’s College London, Sarah brings an evidence-based understanding of how the brain and body respond to stress, sound, and stillness. Her classes combine progressive muscle relaxation, guided meditation, a short breathing technique, and an immersive crystal bowl sound bath to calm the nervous system and promote deep physiological and mental restoration. Each session is structured to move participants gently from cognitive activity into full-body relaxation, reducing stress hormones, improving focus, and enhancing sleep quality. Blending scientific insight with a calm, restorative experience, Sarah’s sessions offer the perfect complement to Pilates practice, supporting recovery, improving sleep, and helping you feel balanced, centred, and reset.
