Our Story

Ebru Evrim is an entrepreneurial woman at the forefront of spreading the word of the benefits of yoga, pilates and wellness. In 2015, armed with just six mats she began teaching yoga in village halls in the Yorkshire Dales. Ebru now has two successful studios in Harrogate and Skipton under her own namesake.  But she hasn’t stopped there she also has her own activewear range, runs her own yoga retreats and has plans for growth in the near future.

Ebru has had an interesting journey into yoga and wellness,  born in Turkey, she began her working life as a pathologist in Istanbul. From pathology she moved into the contrasting busy world of digital marketing. The fast pace of the digital media industry was inevitably demanding, and Ebru took up yoga in 2007 as an antidote to the stress in her life.

Before long, she was hooked – enough to want to share the benefits and teach yoga to others.  Soon after moving to the UK with her family, Ebru completed a 200-hour intensive teacher training course in Ashtanga Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga with Lalit Kumar at the Himalaya Yoga Valley in Goa, India. Later she trained in Polestar Pilates under Claire Sparrow in Leeds and Judith Lasater in London.

Turning the dream into a reality, Ebru moved to the market town of Skipton and set about creating a stunning studio space. She transformed the canal side three storey nineteenth century building to create a ground floor studio with reformer apparatus and a first-floor studio dedicated to mat work. So successful was the first studio even battling the challenges of Covid she saw the opportunity to open another studio in Harrogate. The perfect space became available, and she grasped the opportunity with both hands. After years of hard work Ebru has built two successful studios which are still growing, with the recent opening of The Studio Kitchen in the Harrogate studio. Ebru’s plans do not stop there and she plans on growing the Ebru Evrim brand even further across Yorkshire and the UK.
