Leiko Miura

Senior Reformer Pilates Teacher

Leiko was a professional dancer with Birmingham Royal Ballet for 10 years, and when she finished her ballet career she trained and worked as a Pilates instructor with Alan Herdman who opened the first Pilates studio in Britain. Leiko worked in London for 13 years and Japan for 4 years and experienced teaching a wide variety of people of all ages and varying life styles. She moved to Yorkshire in 2017 to change her life style. Whilst in London, Leiko spent 8 years working at a physiotherapy clinic and as a result she has gained a great deal of experience in understanding individual body awareness. Her precise approach and attention to detail has helped many clients to reflect and adjust their habitual movements in order to strengthen the weaker muscles that are found to be the most challenging to activate. In her spare time she enjoys rock climbing, and particularly likes the process of achieving high standard goals. She has recently developed an interest in the importance of fascia within the body and hypermobility.
